Oh WOW! I've had the Grand opportunity to ride at Pillsbury the past two days with my dear friend Penny. I won't ride there by myself.... no one would ever see me again... surely I'd get lost. No sense of direction besides up and down.
The trails were wonderful. Took Sailor today and tried to get him a bit in shape for Montana hunting. I've been riding him inbetween the two I have in for training. He's fat and "soft". Used him for riding lessons tonight. I thought he'd be tired - aw heck no. Lots of energy left in this 1,300# boy!
I had a good talk with him the other night about traveling to Montana. His head was level with mine as his big brown eye gazed into my blue ones. He listened intently as I "laid down the rules"! There are three guys, three horse's and one small dog going. Anaconda, Montana. They'd all best come home the way they left.... more tired and worn out - but all in good health. It's scarey for this ole' country woman to send her loved ones off to hunt... But then what is it the men say?? A guys gotta bring home the meat. I'll have to whop 'em all if they don't.... (just kidding of course).
Let's hope this weather lasts. Planning on more trips to Pillsbury. Sure wish I could find a good map of those trails!! Anybody has one, send it to Rock Solid Arena, 10609 53rd Ave SW, Pillager, MN 56473 THANKS AHEAD OF TIME. You'all take care now and Happy Trails til I find the time to post again.
