I have successfullly completed all the requirements of the MN Horse Training Academy and have received my "Certified Trainer Program Certificate".
My barn/arena has been open since May of 2009. Each morning I look forward to walking from my house to my barn, +99 or -40 degrees - doesn't matter. I heat with an outdoor wood furnace during the cold winter and it surely is nice to be able to train during a heat wave without biting bugs and sunburn! The horse's learn faster as there is no distraction of horse & deer flies biting like with training outside. And for me, there's always the water tank to climb into if I'm feeling too over heated!
The arena is open to rental for winter riding, training and fun games with your family so make sure to write our number down so you can call for reservations once cold weather arrives (or the bugs get too bad!). I hate to think of it (winter,), but reckon I don't have to worry about bad roads now do I. Just keep in mind - we are open to fit "Your" schedule.
This is Sparty. My g'son in the National Guards tagged him with ?? Sparticus?? Now what kind of name is that for heavens sake? I shortened it to just plain "Sparty".
Here's just a few pictures of what's been going on this week at Rock Solid Arena.
Sparty is the last of the puppies raised at Rock Solid this spring. He can think of alot of stuff to get into without even trying!! I train all horse's the same - from the ground - up. For a "solid horse" you need a "solid foundation" and that's what I do. Once I've been in the saddle and feel they are safe to hand-on, they go to my grandson, Matt and my dear friend, Maeve, to carry on with "in the saddle training". This frees me up some to start another one. It's almost like an assembly line - but with my personal touch. I'm living the dream my Pa and I had - to have a training facility. He was the 3rd, I am the 4th generation of horse trainers. Reckon it's a family tradition.
So, keep Rock Solid Arena, LLC in mind for your riding needs. Give my website a "peek" and call when you're ready to have one trained or just plain ride without a bunch of fuss.
Till then, Happy Trails from Rock Solid Arena, LLC, Ardis Beach, 10609 53rd Ave SW, Pillager, MN 56473 218-746-4364
